Volunteer
It takes nearly 100 volunteers to make the Indiana AIDS Walk & Ride a terrific experience for everyone. If you are interested in helping with set-up or tear-down, serving as a route monitor or helping out during the event, please contact Jennifer Freeman (jenn.freeman@att.net).
Become a Sponsor or Donor
Through the generosity of our donors and event sponsors, the Indiana AIDS Fund has taught more than 600,000 Hoosiers how to protect themselves from contracting the disease in the past 15 years. In addition, we are able to provide care for more than 1,800 men and women each year.
The average amount of DEFA funding each patient received in 2009 was $200. While this often is enough assistance to keep someone living with the disease off the financial edge, many needs went unmet. Your donation will extend the Indiana AIDS Fund's ability to support the agencies that pay for clients' emergency needs. Your donation will make sure more Hoosiers won't face life-changing choices because of their disease.
All proceeds from the Indiana AIDS Walk & Ride benefit the Gregory R. Powers Direct Emergency Financial Assistance (DEFA) Fund of the Indiana AIDS Fund. DEFA is used to cover utility payments, rent and other housing costs, medical expenses, prescriptions drug costs, transportation expenses and food and nutrition. For more information regarding sponsorship or how to donate, contact Jason Grisell (jgrisell@thfgi.org) or Kathy Nagler (knagler@thfgi.org).
