Purpose
The Evaluation Committee is responsible for assessing the effectiveness, either directly or through contractual arrangements, of the broad categories of services offered in meeting the identified needs [of Consumers]. In order to accomplish this mission, it summarizes existing evaluation data and relates this data to the overall goals and objectives of the Advisory Council (e.g., the Quality management reports). It prioritizes areas, which need to be evaluated, such as responses to emerging People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH/A) needs, for the Advisory Council.
Scope of Work
The committee is responsible for the following:
· Working with the Advisory Council to develop the standards of care and continuum of care for the State of Indiana;
· Identifying and recommending to the Advisory Council areas of priority for evaluation;
· Implementing new Needs Assessment activities as necessary;
· Working with support resources of the Advisory Council (non-voting members) to summarize evaluation data;
· Assessing the implications of evaluation results for the work of the Advisory Council;
· Defining and recommending other evaluation projects on a yearly basis;
· Tracking process towards the goals outlined in the Comprehensive Plan; and,
· Tracking and reporting on the established clinical quality management activities of the Division.
· Updating, maintaining, and/or providing (to the webmaster for the CAB website) content, relevant to Consumers, current information regarding the Evaluation Committee work on the CAB Committee website.
The Comprehensive HIV Services Advisory and Planning Council (Advisory Council) is split into four standing committees - Executive Committee, Evaluation, Planning, and CAB Committees.

In short, the Evaluation Committee conducts surveys and gathers information and input from a sampling of individuals with HIV throughout the state. These surveys focus on asking if the programs and policies that the state of Indiana established under the Ryan White Program, meets the needs of the HIV community in the state of Indiana.
