The current Ryan White CARE Act EXPIRES on September 30, 2009; Congress must extend the Ryan White Program as a Stand-A-Alone bill by September 30, 2009 to avoid gaps in coverage. The care act provides funding for: The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program is a Federal program that provides HIV--related health services. The program works with cities, states, and local community-based organization to provide services to more than half a million people each year. The Indiana Care Coordination Program depends on this program to exist.

***YOUR ACTION NEEDED***
This program is for those who do not have sufficient health care coverage for financial resource for coping with HIV disease. Ryan White fills gaps in care not covered by these other sources. The majority of Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program funds support primary medical care and essential support services.
First authorized in 1990, the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program is currently funded at $2.1 billion. For more information about the program, go to http://hab.hrsa.gov/aboutus.htm.

The Indiana Consumer Advisory Board is sponsored by the Indiana State Department of Health and is a requirement for Indiana to receive federal funding for HIV Services through the Ryan White Act
