Advisory Council CAB Committee

Purpose

The CAB Committee is responsible for providing a mechanism through which people with HIV infection can have meaningful input into the development of policies and programs to address their HIV services needs. The CAB Committee provides input on the quality and functionality of existing HIV-related services, and it identifies service delivery gaps in and proposes solutions to improve the continuum of care. The CAB Committee works with Consumers in the state’s twelve (12) Regions (formerly known as Districts) to identify concerns and share information. It seeks to increase overall Consumer involvement on the Advisory Council.

Ø  Scope of Work

The CAB Committee is responsible for the following:

Ø  Ensuring Advisory Council Consumer representation from each of the 12 Regions (formerly known as Districts):

Ø  Ensuring CAB Committee leadership representation from three identified and created Areas (North Area, Central Area, South Area)

Ø  Providing opportunities to allow Consumers to provide feedback regarding HIV services in their Region;

Ø  Providing opportunities to allow Consumers in each Region to learn about care, services, and ways to maintain health and self-sufficiency through the use of events designed to deliver such opportunities;

Ø  Informing local AIDS Services Organizations (ASOs) about the activities of the CAB Committee;

Ø  Identifying technical assistance and capacity development needs for effective consumer participation in the advisory process;

Ø  Identifying technical assistance needs of community-based AIDS Services Organizations in the area of program planning, implementation, and evaluation;

Ø  Create and maintain its own logo identifiable to Consumers to promote the mission of the CAB Committee through the use of its logo on the CAB Committee Website (indianacab.org);

Ø  Create and provide business cards for all CAB Committee Regional and Area Representatives, and create and have approved through ISDH, standard customized letterhead noting the nature of its work to the community of Consumers the CAB Committee's work is advocacy for Consumers;

Ø  Updating, maintaining and/or providing (to the webmaster for the CAB website) content, relevant to Consumers, current information regarding the CAB Committee work on the CAB website.
